“This program is all about mastering Radio and TV interviews. It’s also about Client Services and Corporate Strategies that keep you moving forward, creating emotional triggers in your communication skills that result in buying responses from  your audience as well as creating common goals and an ongoing revenue stream. It’s about how to successfully communicate on a personal level and how to convey your message in a manner that the entire audience can relate to. It’s what that audience hears that makes or breaks your presentation!”             —Michael Dresser

                              Presentation Training

                                       Creating Your Presentation

A radio interview, like any presentation, whether you are speaking to the public through the media or you are in your office promoting your business service, is all an acquired skill.  It doesn’t just happen, it’s a learned strategy. From the time you are introduced until the time you say goodbye, everything you say and the way you say it must be intentional if you are going to get what you want out of your interview!

Step One: Finding Your Core Message

First, we discover your core message - the message that will most powerfully convey the value of your book, product, service or idea as it relates to your audience. This step involves answering a series of questions that will bring out the essence of why you are there and what you want out of your presentation. During Step One, we will identify your core message and why you are different and unique. This is critical to the success of your presentation!

Step Two: Identifying the words and concepts that connect you to your audience, the recognition to reaction strategy

There is a universal language to reach any audience; there is buy-ology, a natural science behind the use of words.   Your words actually stimulate reactions in the emotional part of your brain, each word you speak sends an image or a picture to the unconscious mind, because every time you hear a word that you recognize, the word in turn generates a matching mental picture in your mind.

We begin by laying a base of how an audience hears and then generate your message in a way that the ”entire” audience recognizes themselves within the context.

In your message development, we will format the communication that will connect on an emotional level with your audience. We will choose the material in such a way that your audience will experience your presentation on a personal level to activate recognition and then trigger the response you are looking for. They have to be alive in it, they have to be engaged in it and they have to be there! Our goal in Step Two is for the audience to actually recognize themselves by relating to the experience that you are presenting. This is skill building! If your audience does not see and feel themselves in what you say, you will lose most of them, and you will have lost a valuable opportunity.

Step Three: Making sure they “hear” what you “mean”

You will learn to speak to both the left brain and right brain thinkers in your audience. Most importantly, you will learn how to make sure they hear what you mean by what you say, as opposed to what they think they heard from what you said!

Together we will compose eight to ten talking points that will address any questions that you could ever be asked,  no matter where you are or who you are speaking to. The talking point is the discovery of a dimension of your subject that your audience was not aware of.

Step Four: The Stories that Illustrate your Message

The creation of a story can be an example, narrative or a testimonial of someone who has gained and changed their life by taking advantage of the benefit that you offer. Each talking point will be followed by a story that adds absolute clarity to your message. You will learn how your audience is moved to action by recognizing a sense of human participation by tying your message to a recognizable image!

Step Five: Practice

We will do four half-hour interviews that are one-on-one without an audience. That’s when it really comes together. Working on your Pitch, your Tone and your Pace, when and how to emphasize, where to pause, why to pause and when to pause, varying the rhythm of your words and tying mood sounds into circumstances and finally, presentation script marking for vocal cues.

When this is all done, you will end up with twelve or thirteen very powerful talking points that will allow you to anticipate any question anywhere you go and be able to respond with rock solid answers that will always keep you in control. You won’t have to think on your feet – you’ll be prepared in advance and it allows you to be natural and present!

As part of the process:

You’ll learn how to stay on “target”, bridging back to your message when necessary, staying focused even when the host side-tracks you.

You’ll learn how to overcome the “short attention span” of your audience by continually “resetting them”

You’ll learn how to defuse an uncomfortable situation and come out ahead.

  Bottom Line:

You will have created your marketing message to appeal to both the intellectual and emotional behavioral types in your audience. You will walk away with the tools you need to create a solid presentation, loaded with emotional triggers to cause buying responses.
